In the medium bowl, combine the cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sugar until the sugar is fully incorporated, then fold in the Cool Whip.
Place half of the Cool Whip and cream cheese on top of the graham crackers and spread it out evenly. Add the apple pie filling on top of the previous layer and spread that out evenly as well. Finally, add the other half of the cream cheese and Cool Whip then top with the last of the graham cracker crumbs.
