GIVING TUESDAY: THANKS UMPQUA BANK – DECEMBER 3

GIVING TUESDAY: THANKS UMPQUA BANK

Authors: Claire Hurd

November 30 was #GivingTuesday and our friends at Umpqua Bank offered a special, 24-hour gift match to help aid the most generous day of the year. As a result of this community’s kindness and generosity, over 350,000 meals were donated. These meals will make their way to the dining tables of kids, families, and seniors throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. And with the rising cost of groceries, heating bills, and the holidays quickly approaching, these meals are needed to help make the holidays hopeful for thousands of local families looking for little extra help this year.

We want to express our thanks to those who donated online, donated in-person, shared a Facebook post, or volunteered personal time. This was our most successful #GivingTuesday to date and we are in awe of this community’s commitment to fighting local hunger.

Please enjoy this video featuring some Second Harvest staff expressing our thanks of all the generosity we saw on #GivingTuesday.

Interested in making a difference in local hunger? You can still  make your gift until the end of the year and have it matched. Donate now and give the gift of hope this holiday season.
