1. Make a year-end gift & double your impact

If you’re planning to make an end-of-year gift, we have great news. All donations will be matched up to $250,000 through Dec. 31, 2022, thanks to the generosity of special community partners.

If you are making a year-end donation for tax purposes, please make your gift at your earliest convenience so we can document it prior to Jan. 1. Our EIN is 23-7173826. Talk to your financial advisor for more information on how charitable giving might influence tax savings. Make your gift now!

2. Donate food

Donations from food industry producers and individuals provide thousands of meals. Read on to learn how you can help.

Individuals: Delivering food directly to your local pantry will ensure that it reaches neighbors quickly. To find a pantry near you and learn how to hold a food drive at your business, school or community organization, please click the button below.

3. Join Feed365

Our Feed365 program was created to generate sustainable, reliable giving. As a monthly donor, you create a year-round source of funding to help provide healthy, fresh meals for seniors, children and families facing hunger in our community. Your legacy gift will provide meals for years to come. By remembering Second Harvest in your will, estate plan or trust, you will ensure funds will go where they’re needed most to end hunger in our community.

Legacy givers are welcomed into the Kay Porta Legacy Society. In 1971 Kay Porta and a small group of volunteers started the Spokane Food Bank with the belief that food is a basic and critical need. Today, that simple and compassionate vision has become Second Harvest, the largest distributor of food to hungry children, families and seniors in the Inland Northwest.

Kay’s influence continues with The Kay Porta Legacy Society, which honors individuals who seek to establish a strong foundation for a hunger-free Inland Northwest by making legacy gifts to Second Harvest.

5. Donate stocks and bonds

Donations of stock can feed those in need and be a benefit to you. We simply couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. Each year, generous neighbors donate their time to help pack and sort millions of pounds of food each year. We offer a variety of experiences at our volunteer centers in Spokane and Pasco, at Mobile Market free food distributions and during cooking classes in The Kitchen.
