FEEDING AMERICA COVID-19 IMPACT REPORT: “WHERE WE STAND ONE YEAR LATER”
This week, which marked one year since the COVID-19 crisis began in the U.S., Feeding America released a COVID-19 response report: “Where We Stand One Year Later.” The report reflects on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted hunger across the country and how the Feeding America network, which Second Harvest is proud to be a part of, responded to meet the elevated demand for food assistance.
The stories and statistics in this report come from across the U.S., but they feel familiar here at Second Harvest, as they echo the need we’ve seen throughout the Inland Northwest over the past 12 months. Many people in our region, like Dave, have sought food assistance for the first time after losing their income. “This has been so helpful,” he said about the food he received from a Second Harvest partner agency last summer. “It’s a godsend—an absolute godsend.”
