HANFORD FEEDING FAMILIES FUNDRAISER
The Hanford Prime Contractors and their labor union partners, HAMTC and the Central Washington Building Trades, have created the Hanford Feeding Families Fundraiser to help support people facing hunger during the COVID-19 crisis. They’ve set a goal of raising $50,000 for Second Harvest and are inviting the public to participate. If you’d like to donate to the Hanford Feeding Families Fundraiser, you can do so here from May 18 to 27. Learn more about the fundraiser here. Thank you to the Hanford community for your support during this crisis!
SUPPORT FROM PENINSULA TRUCK LINES
Many thanks to Peninsula Truck Lines, who is donating driver time and trucking to help us reach the last miles of our service area with Washington Emergency Food Boxes. Peninsula Truck Lines is taking on multiple routes for Second Harvest that include stops in Colville, Kennewick, Moses Lake, St. John, Walla Walla and several other communities. When possible, they’re also picking up Washington grown fresh produce donations for Second Harvest along the way. We value our partners at Peninsula Truck Lines for their contribution to our pandemic response efforts!

RED NOSE DAY
May 21 is Red Nose Day, a campaign with the mission to end child poverty by funding programs that keep children safe, healthy and educated. The campaign uses entertainment to bring people together to laugh and have fun, all while raising life-changing funds for the children that need it most. You can join an action-packed, three-hour block of Red Nose Day programming on Thursday, May 21, at 8 p.m. on NBC, including the first-ever “Celebrity Escape Room” featuring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Adam Scott and more. This campaign supports charities globally that are positively impacting children. Red Nose Day funding has helped Second Harvest to get food to kids facing hunger throughout the region. #RedNoseDay #NosesOn!
VOICES OF HOPE
Second Harvest supplies prepacked food boxes to the Spokane Food Fighters, who deliver them to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. “I’m a single mom of a 16-year-old girl. We are very grateful for the food boxes from Spokane Food Fighters. It definitely does help out with keeping fresh healthy food on the table while she’s out of school. I thank all the volunteers for keeping this as a resource at this tough time. What an amazing way to reach out to the community and help those less fortunate. Being able to deliver is also amazing! Truly a blessing. Thank you!” -Christa, Spokane
