LOCAL SUMMER MEAL SITES FOR KIDS
Author: Patty Kieburtz
School’s out for summer. The long-awaited last bell of the year finally rang, yet many children may be feeling anxiety rather than excitement in looking toward their 75-day break. When free school breakfasts and lunches that students count on aren’t available, students and families living with food insecurity face extra stress. To help bridge this gap, local school districts supply free meals at select schools and facilities to students in need through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Students aged 1 – 18 are eligible. At some locations, adults over 18 can purchase a meal for $4.50. Find your school district’s specific meal plans below.
All meal sites, dates and times are subject to change.
