Bite2Go: Fueling Futures

Every child deserves a full belly and a bright future. Bite2Go brings together caring neighbors to make sure children have food over the weekend during the school year. You can get involved.

Three ways to get involved

Children in Bite2Go program

Sponsor a child

By sponsoring a child through Bite2Go, you'll be providing a hungry kiddo with a special pack filled with nutritious meals and snacks to keep their belly full and their smile bright all weekend long.

Volunteers at Bite2Go

Bring Bite2Go to your community

We team up with local heroes – businesses, faith groups and community organizations – to "adopt" schools. These awesome partners generously cover the cost to purchase nutritious kid-friendly food for students in need.

Weekend food, lifetime tools

In our region, 1 in 5 children face the daily challenge of not having enough to eat. This isn’t just about empty stomachs—it’s about the future of our community. When children are hungry, it’s harder for them to focus and learn in school. But together, we can change this story. Join us in ensuring no child in our community goes hungry. With Bite2Go, we’re not just feeding kids—we’re nourishing their potential, one weekend at a time.

More about Bite2Go

What is in a Bite2Go bag?
  • Elementary school students receive nutritious kid-friendly, ready-to-eat food for meals and snacks over the weekend.
  • Middle and high school can choose from a menu that includes more substantial items for their older appetites.
  • Local businesses, faith communities, and families adopt and cover the BiteGo food costs for their schools. In most cases, these adoptive organizations provide volunteers to deliver Bite2Go food to schools on distribution days.
  • Once at school, the bags of Bite2Go food are handed out by teachers, counselors or other trusted staff, and can be put discreetly into students’ backpacks. This ensures the anonymity and dignity of students.
  • Spokane: 402 N. Perry St., Spokane, WA 99202. Go to the Hogan Street side of our Wolff Family Child Hunger Solution Center and ring the doorbell for service.
  • Tri-Cities: 5825 Burlington Loop, Pasco, WA 99301.

It’s easy!

All volunteers must sign up in advance online and will receive a confirmation email.

  • Volunteers must be 14 and older to participate on their own. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone in their assigned work area. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children under 9 years old.
  • Please read event descriptions carefully for more specific age requirements that may apply.
  • Second Harvest does not provide court-related community service.
