Bite2Go launches summer program

As area schools wind down for summer, we’re reflecting on another busy year for the Bite2Go program. Thanks to the help of our adoptive organizations and volunteers, we were able to deliver weekend nourishment for nearly 12,000 students across the Inland Northwest each week of the school year. But the most exciting development is unfolding as you read this.

Like you, we worry about kids having enough to eat over the summer. We want summer to be a fun-filled time for children, but if they don’t have enough food — well, you get the picture. We decided that something new needed to happen, even if it’s really hard to do. Luckily, we have friends who were willing to help.

We’re excited that our amazing friends atRick Clark of Giving Back Spokane with Bite2Go Check Presentation Giving Back Spokane stepped up in a really BIG way. Thanks to their incredible generosity, we’re launching a bold experiment to help 1,500 kids each week this summer. Kids — or their moms, dads or guardians — can stop by one of two places to pick up Bite2Go weekend food bags on Fridays this summer. It’s a great step in the right direction!

Bite2Go will be available Fridays, June 14 through Aug. 30, at these locations:

First Free Methodist Church
1725 W. Courtland
Spokane, WA 99205

Shaw Middle School
4106 N. Cook St.
Spokane, WA 99207

*Fridays, June 14 – Aug. 30
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or while supplies last
*Distribution will happen on Wednesday, July 3, ahead of the July 4 holiday.
