Three ways to get involved
Sponsor a child
By sponsoring a child through Bite2Go, you'll be providing a hungry kiddo with a special pack filled with nutritious meals and snacks to keep their belly full and their smile bright all weekend long.
Bring Bite2Go to your community
We team up with local heroes – businesses, faith groups and community organizations – to "adopt" schools. These awesome partners generously cover the cost to purchase nutritious kid-friendly food for students in need.
Volunteer
Like you, we worry about kids having enough to eat. We want childhood to be a fun-filled time for kids, but if they don't have enough food—well, you get the picture. We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you to make a gift. We can take credit card, Apple Pay, Venmo, PayPal, ACH and Google Pay.

- $15 a month or $180 a school year
Middle School Students:

Can hunger be completely eradicated in Spokane?

What is in a Bite2Go bag?
- Elementary school students receive nutritious kid-friendly, ready-to-eat food for meals and snacks over the weekend.
- Middle and high school can choose from a menu that includes more substantial items for their older appetites.
How does Bite2Go food get to schools?
- Local businesses, faith communities, and families adopt and cover the BiteGo food costs for their schools. In most cases, these adoptive organizations provide volunteers to deliver Bite2Go food to schools on distribution days.
- Once at school, the bags of Bite2Go food are handed out by teachers, counselors or other trusted staff, and can be put discreetly into students’ backpacks. This ensures the anonymity and dignity of students.
Where do adoptive organizations and other volunteers pick up Bite2Go food to deliver to their schools?
- Spokane: 402 N. Perry St., Spokane, WA 99202. Go to the Hogan Street side of our Wolff Family Child Hunger Solution Center and ring the doorbell for service.
- Tri-Cities: 5825 Burlington Loop, Pasco, WA 99301.
How do I sign up to volunteer?
It’s easy!
Do I need to schedule in advance, or can I just show up?
All volunteers must sign up in advance online and will receive a confirmation email.
Can children volunteer?
- Volunteers must be 14 and older to participate on their own. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone in their assigned work area. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children under 9 years old.
- Please read event descriptions carefully for more specific age requirements that may apply.
Does Second Harvest accept court-related community service volunteers?
- Second Harvest does not provide court-related community service.
