Thank you to all the volunteers who took time out of their day last year to provide a combined 64,000 hours (or over 8,000 volunteers) to help us provide food for 55,000 hungry people per week. Without this tremendous contribution from businesses, school and church groups, corporations, civic and youth organizations and more, our hungry neighbors would not receive the food they need.
Second Harvest needs volunteers to pack food for our neighbors who do not have reserves in the event in there is a need.
The health and safety of partners, staff and the community are Second Harvest’s number-one priority. We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting, especially around high-touch areas.
We ask all volunteers to make healthy choices while in our Volunteer Center as a precaution to keep them and others safe. If you are feeling ill, please do not attend any volunteer sessions. While volunteering, we will remind you regularly about the importance of handwashing with soap and hot water. We always provide gloves to be worn while handling food.
Thank you for your volunteerism so that food for 70,000 meals each day reaches children, families and seniors in need. Additional information and updates posted here.
