TOM’S TURKEY DRIVE VOLUNTEER FAQ & MAP

FAQs

Thank you for volunteering for Tom’s Turkey Drive. This community event couldn’t happen without your support. Tom’s Turkey Drive distribution will take place at the Spokane County Fairgrounds, located at 404 N. Havana St. The volunteer entrance is located just off Fancher Rd. Please see driving instructions below for more information.

WHAT TO WEAR: Please dress for the forecasted weather, your comfort and safety. Closed-toed, sturdy shoes are required. Wear layers, warm gloves (water proof is best), protective outer gear that will keep you dry, and shoes that are warm, have a good wet-weather sole, and will keep your feet dry.

WHAT TO BRING: Your smiling face and generous heart. Coffee, water, and donuts will be provided. Please bring your own snacks if you have dietary restrictions.

WHERE TO ENTER/PARK: See below for information about where volunteers should park.

ROADWAYS TO AVOID:

  • Havana Street
  • Sprague Avenue east and west of Havana Street
  • Broadway Avenue between Havana Street and Fancher Road

Traffic will be highly congested, please plan up to 30 additional minutes in travel time to ensure on-time arrival for your shift.

PARKING & DIRECTIONS

VOLUNTEERS, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS. Attempting to enter the fairgrounds by other routes could cause an accident—or a lot of frustration. Thanks to Union Pacific, we have established a NEW volunteer entrance that boosts safety and eliminates the need to fight traffic or cross exiting traffic.
