We take our role serving vulnerable people seriously and we are committed to our mission to get nutritious food to all children, families and seniors who need it.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about major changes to daily life in the Inland Northwest. More people than ever are turning to food banks, many for the first time, due to the public health and economic crisis. Businesses remain closed and joblessness is skyrocketing. As schools remain closed, kids aren't receiving the free and reduced-price school meals they relied on for nutrition. Seniors are facing increased barriers to food access as a high-risk population for COVID-19 complications.
Because of the surge in demand for food assistance in the region, donated food is flowing out Second Harvest's doors more quickly than it is flowing in, and the need is expected to grow as more people feel the financial consequences. Your donation today will help stabilize the food supply chain and provide food to children, families and seniors facing hunger.
Thank you for helping to ensure that our neighbors in need during this crisis can continue to access the food they need.
