Fall 2018 Tamale Class - A Seasonal Cooking Series and Food Forum
Celebrate harvest season with a hands-on style cooking class and conversation around the table, focused on how you can find and use the abundant seasonal ingredients available locally. You don’t want to miss this special class celebrating the harvest season!
Try your hand at making fresh hand-wrapped tamales, from mixing the fresh masa, to selecting delicious fillings, and finally practicing wrapping your tamales in corn husk. Three filing varieties will be created: chicken, sweet corn, and vegetarian calabacitas (squash). Hear insight about how you can best select fresh ingredients available in Fall, while also making use of staple ingredients available in the Spokane area year round.
You’ll leave with a salsa sample from class, as well as a recipe booklet for inspiration!
