END SUMMER HUNGER

Summer is always a challenge for kids in food insecure homes, but this year is even more difficult as many families face greater financial strain due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this video, teachers and school administrators share the impact of hunger on students and how you can help make sure kids and teens get the food they need over the summer.

ONLINE ORDERS AVAILABLE AT SFCC FOOD PANTRY

To continue to safely serve students during the COVID-19 pandemic, Skitch’s Food Pantry at Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) is taking online orders during the summer quarter. VOICES OF HOPE

“We are in the ‘in between’ category for food benefits. We don’t qualify for state assistance but could really use it. The Mobile Markets have been absolutely amazing. My family has benefited from them so much. We are often given more than we could use and pass it along to people that need extra goods.

“I try hard to not take my children into stores during this uncertain time. The Mobile Market is fantastic in not requiring close contact with others, and we know the goods have been handled by people with PPE on.

“I hope they continue to do Mobile Markets. I have spread the word to others about them and they have benefited also. Food helps spread love.” -Kennewick family
