SIKH TEMPLE DONATION

The Sikh communities in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene came together to donate $15,000 to Second Harvest to help ensure that our neighbors in need have access to healthy food during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to their monetary contribution, they also donated $2,000 in food. Thank you to the Sikh Temple for your generous support during this crisis! Learn more about their donation here

VOICES OF HOPE

“My husband is in health care, and even though he’s an essential worker, he was still laid off due to lack of patients. I have three small children under the age of five. This has been a terrible time for us. The first time I went to a Mobile Market, I had tears in my eyes. I never wanted to have to go, but it has been so helpful.” -Debbie, Kennewick

Why I support Second Harvest: A donor’s story – February 23

Nothing is more important than having food on the table. To state the obvious, food—like shelter—is something without which we cannot survive. Second Harvest thus quite literally provides a lifeline for those whom my wife and I cannot feed directly. And it has done so for the nearly 40 years that we have supported Second Harvest. During this period we have seen not even a hint that their mission is diminishing in importance. On the contrary, the organization seems to be throwing out more and more lifelines to those in our midst who are in danger of sinking.
