Accountability Report - Outlet Results for 2009

•  A total of 4 million pounds of donated food valued at $6 million

• Organized community-wide food drives that generated 945,000 pounds of donated food

• 885,000 pounds of federal commodities provided

• 8,006 Thanksgiving turkeys and meals collected during Tom’s Turkey Drive and distributed through the outlet network

• An additional 3,277 holiday turkeys collected and distributed through the outlet network

• 224 Food Sense nutrition education classes held in partnership with Washington State University Extension of Spokane County, benefiting 5,690 emergency food clients

• More than 88,000 pounds of area retail store food donations connected directly to outlets through Grocery Rescue Partner Program

• Over three million pounds of food industry contributions transported, sorted, inspected, processed and palletized, then moved to outlets by vehicle loan or by Second Harvest truck
