Plant A Row for the Hungry
The Plant A Row for the Hungry program encourages anyone with a plot of land set aside for a garden to dedicate a row of fruit or vegetables to help feed people in need. Plant A Row also works with local farmers’ markets, farms and orchards to collect unsold, wholesome produce for local hunger-relief efforts.
The success of Plant A Row hinges on community involvement. Home gardeners, farmers, schools, places of worship, youth and community organizations, and area businesses can help make a difference for their neighbors in need by planting a row of seed and donating their surplus to Second Harvest.
You can bring your produce to Second Harvest at 810 East Chemical Drive, Kennewick, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Your donation will be weighed and you will receive a Plant A Row receipt. If you have any questions, contact Pamela at 585-3924 or psparks@2-harvest.org.

Thank You
A special thank you to John Veysey, Mike Harstan and Bill Smith of AREVA, who generously donated materials and time to make three new grocery trees for Second Harvest. The trees are used to hold pre-packed grocery bags at Yokes Fresh Market food drives throughout the year.
Thanks to the generosity of Pasco farmer Noel Price and a group of Fields of Grace volunteers, 7,060 pounds of farm-fresh corn is on its way to people in need. Price opened his cornfield for gleaning by the volunteers on Aug. 5. Second Harvest has also received over 22,000 pounds of potatoes from local farmers and Fields of Grace volunteers. We appreciate all of the dedicated people who participated in this amazing effort!
