Food Bank University
Food Bank University provides partner agencies with classes that help them modernize emergency and supplemental food distribution practices to more efficiently and cost effectively serve their neighborhoods.
Second Harvest’s specialized training program helps agencies, which were often set up to store and distribute canned and dry goods, deal with a changing stream of donations that includes more fresh foods, such as milk, meat and produce. Through Food Bank University, Second Harvest helps remove barriers that prevent agencies from handling perishable food and increases client access to these wholesome products.
